YW Camp Meeting Updates

Hello Girls!

We are in a unique time in history, and that poses some particular challenges to our planning of camp. To align with the requirements of social distancing, we will NOT be meeting this Saturday as was originally planned. However, that does not mean that all plans for camp have halted. Here are the things you should still be doing to help our camp plans move forward:

  1. Prepare spiritually! The YW Camp Guide says "As a leader, you can receive inspiration as you pray, study the scriptures, and fast while keeping the young women in mind. Consider attending the temple, where possible. Your spiritual preparation will guide your efforts as you plan and prepare for camp." Since we can't really go anywhere else right now, you probably have extra time. Use that time to prepare spiritually for camp! Take some extra time to read your scriptures, ponder, pray for the girls in your ward, pray for inspiration. President Nelson has been emphasizing the need for personal revelation, and this is a great opportunity to practice receiving that! This can also help you to find peace in this tumultuous time. We have many unknowns about our future right now, but the Lord can help us find peace and direction.
  2. Communicate! You NEED to be checking your email. Because we can't meet physically, much of or continued planning will be digital. Please be regularly checking your email as that is where you communication will be coming from.
  3. Digitally meet with your committees. Each committee point person needs to head this up. The adult leaders who are mentoring the committees will reach out to you if they haven't already done so, but the primary responsibility of planning in those committees falls to you. Which means you need to be in communication with each other.
If you haven't joined the Remind App group yet, the code for that is @senecastak  - I use this primarily to remind people to check the blog which has all of the same information as the emails. If you know of any girls who aren't getting the information from us, tell them to email or text me their contact info so that I can add them!

I love you all, and hope you are doing well. I love that even though we are isolated to help stop the spread of Covid-19, we are still connected through digital means. Please do your best these next few weeks to stay connected with us for YW Camp, and to connect yourselves to the Lord as much as possible!

 YCLs and Adult Leaders, I need to practice a few things on Zoom before camp starts next week, so I am having an open zoom meeting Monday morning at 10am. If you have any questions about camp or want clarification of what will happen, (or want to practice anything for your classes YCLs), this is a great chance to come ask questions! YW Camp Update

Dearest YCLs, I am sad to say that we are officially NOT having Young Women's camp this year. As we all know, things are crazy in the world right now, and I am sad (but not really surprised) that the First Presidency has cancelled all camps for the time being. We will NOT be having any planning meetings until further notice. With that said, there is a possibility of some kind of activity towards the end of the summer, depending on what happens in Maryland and the rest of the world.
