2/22 Meeting Notes

Hello YCLs!

Thank you for coming out to our first YCL meeting Saturday Feb 22! We are so excited to get started with planning a great camp this year. Our next YCL meeting is Saturday March 28, 10am at the Olney building. Please remember, if you are unable to attend a meeting, contact Sis. Presley or Sis. Padilla and complete any assignments before the missed meeting. 

We completed the following at our meeting:
1. Introduction of camp location and amenities through a slideshow
2. Discussion of Young Women Camp Guide: Introduction; Principles of Leadership; Plan Camp; Evaluate Camp
3. Themes
4. Committee meeting: Swapped contact information, picked a committee leader, started planning

Committee Leaders: 
1. Please email your Stake Leader (see below) with your committee meeting notes.  
2. If you know of anybody in your committee who isn't receiving these emails or txts from Sis. Presley or  Sis. Padilla, please have them send us their contact info.

If you did not attend this meeting, please complete the following assignments:  
1. Read the Young Women Camp Guide and report back to Sis. Presley or Sis. Padilla before March 28, 2020 what you learned from each of the following sections: Introduction, Principles of Leadership, Plan Camp & Evaluate Camp
2. Contact your committee leader with your contact information. If you do not have their info, contact someone in the group to pass it along asap so you have time to complete your assignments before the next meeting

 YCLs and Adult Leaders, I need to practice a few things on Zoom before camp starts next week, so I am having an open zoom meeting Monday morning at 10am. If you have any questions about camp or want clarification of what will happen, (or want to practice anything for your classes YCLs), this is a great chance to come ask questions! This will be very informal, but any of you are welcome to come stop in to ask questions or just say "hi" or even just be a body so I can test out what I'm doing before we go live! YW Camp Update

Dearest YCLs, I am sad to say that we are officially NOT having Young Women's camp this year. As we all know, things are crazy in the world right now, and I am sad (but not really surprised) that the First Presidency has cancelled all camps for the time being. We will NOT be having any planning meetings until further notice. With that said, there is a possibility of some kind of activity towards the end of the summer, depending on what happens in Maryland and the rest of the world. If you have ideas of things we can do virtually please share them in this Google Doc . I love you guys and hope you are doing well and staying safe at home!
